HISTORY COMES TO LIFE ONCE MORE
Music played aboard the liners, or written about them, is an intrinsic part of their story.
Here at HFX Studios, our team is passionate about vintage music related to the ocean liners. Titanic‘s bandsmen played popular music of 1912 as the liner made her way across the Atlantic, and bravely played on as she sank; professional musicians were hired to perform on all of the crack ocean liners of the late 19th and early 20th century; and there were songs were specifically written about the ocean liners, as well.
In April 2023, our crew released our first studio album of liner-related music, Liners of the Golden Era: A Musical Tribute, Vol. 1. It featured solo renditions of historic music, some of which had never been recorded and released before. Since then, we have formed a partnership with the musical ensemble The White Star Line Quintet to create recordings of period music as they would have sounded on board Titanic, Lusitania, Empress of Ireland, and other ships.
